Turst Builders

When I heard that we were going to being team building and trust building activities I knew it was going to be fun. I really like doing these types of things because it makes you work together as a team and it gets you to trust each other. We did a lot of fun activities that I have never down before and they are activities that I would love to use in my classroom. I wish that we all could have worked together instead of being separated in two groups, but it was still fun.

The activity that we did in the beginning of the day was really fun! Mr. H made that activity so much fun because he was so animated and got us excited to be there. I hope that when I am a teacher I have that intensity that he has because it makes it so much more enjoyable to be there!

There were times during our trust builders and team builders activity that I thought we were not going to be able to complete the activity, but we always worked through it and it felt so good at the end when we accomplished it!

I am really glad that we got to do this as a class because I feel that it brought us closer and we got to know each other a little better. There were things that we did that were challenging for some people but we all encouraged each other and helped each other push through. That was a really fun day and I am glad that we were able to do that as a class!

Circus Arts

Okay, so when they said we were going to be doing circus arts I will be honest, I was a little nervous. I did not really want to be learning about circus arts, but once we started practicing and learning all of the tricks it was actually pretty fun. I didn't realize how hard it actually was going to be.

The diabolo was surprisingly hard and it took me a while to get it down. I think that this is something that I would like to do with my students in my future classroom because it teaches them to be patient and it teaches them that they have to practice new things and that it takes time.

The flower sticks were really fun! That was the one thing that I caught on quick with. I thought it was really cool when that guy came in (sorry forgot his name!) and showed us all of the tricks on the diabolo and the flower sticks, he was extremely good! I wish that we could have worked with him more because I felt that I would have learned a lot more tricks from him.

I will be honest, in the beginning of the quarter I really did not want to do the circus arts, but now I don't mind it so much. It was pretty fun to learn something different

Indo Boards

I am really glad that we got that girl to come and demonstrate the Indo Boards for us and the discovery school students. I know that is something that I would love to have for my students to use because there is a lot of cool things that you can do with it. I really never thought that you would be able to all of those things on a board.

This is something that I feel students would really enjoy because it is different. I thought that her presentation was great and you could see that the discovery school students really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. When I become a teacher I am for sure going to try and get these Indo boards for y students!

Frisbee

Frisbee was a lot of fun! It was such a nice day out the first part of class and it was fun learning the different types of throws you can do with a Frisbee. The first part of the day was all about getting our skills down and practicing with a partner. I thought that this was good because I have not played Frisbee in a long time and I needed some practice. I thought that the activities that we did with our partners were fun and gave me the opportunity to work on my throwing and catching skills

When we were playing Frisbee golf it was super windy! That made it very difficult because the Frisbee was not going anywhere! I think that it would have been more fun if it was not windy outside, and I really liked how at every hole that you had to throw the Frisbee a certain way

The best part of the day was playing ultimate Frisbee! I thought that we all had a lot of fun and the games were really competitive. I think that this is a fun game to play and I like it because you are always moving around and it is challenging.

Inline Skating

When I heard that we were going to be doing inline skating all I could think about was how excited I was when I was younger to get my very own Barbie roller blades. I thought that I was the coolest girl on the street with those bright pink and white blades!

I was a little bit nervous to get back on the roller blades because I haven't done it since probably the 7th grade. Once I put those blades on it took me back to my childhood, roller blading downtown with my friends and around neighborhoods, that was fun.

The only thing that I did not like about roller blading in the field house was that it was difficult to get speed and go smoothly through the cones. I think it would have been a lot more fun if we could have done a course outside with hills and other obstacles. Overall I had fun and it brought me back to the good old days!

Geocaching

On May 12, we walked all around campus Geocaching. At first I thought that it was going to be boring, but I actually had a lot of fun. It was fun to try and figure out the clues that were given to us. We were in groups of 3 or 4 and in the beginning we had to go hide our cache and write down the coordinates and come up with a cleaver clue on where the cache would be

I also thought it was interesting to use the GPS devices and it was fun to see that the coordinates actually matched up with the ones that were given to us. I think that this is a great activity to use in the classroom and i think that it is something that the students would enjoy doing
